Hey, families around Snoqualmie Pass and anyone staying at The Fire Lodge, we've got something super cool for your kiddos! The Mt. Si Fish & Game Club is throwing its annual Kids' Trout Derby this May, and it's shaping up to be a blast.
Quick Details:
- When? First Saturday of May, starting at the crack of dawn and wrapping up by 10 a.m.
- Where? Behind the Snoqualmie Ridge Police Department—yep, there are ponds there!
- Who? Kids aged 5 to 14 can compete. Little ones under 5 can fish for fun but won’t be in the running for prizes.
- Cost? Absolutely free. No need to sign up beforehand, just show up and fish.
What's the Deal?
This derby is all about getting the kids outside, teaching them a bit about fishing, and maybe sparking a new hobby. Starting from 6:30 a.m., your kids can start weighing their catches to see who’s bagged the biggest fish. There are prizes up for grabs for different age groups, making it extra exciting for them.
Stay Fed & Safe
We’ve got refreshments on hand to keep everyone going, and while we’re all about fun, safety’s a big deal too. So, we’ll remind everyone to play it safe while trying to hook the big one.
Why Come?
It's a perfect morning activity that’s not just about fishing. It’s about spending quality time with your family, enjoying the outdoors, and meeting other cool folks from around Snoqualmie Pass. Plus, who doesn’t like a little friendly competition?
So, grab your fishing gear, round up the kids, and head over to the ponds behind the Snoqualmie Ridge Police Department for a morning of fishing fun. It’s a great way to kick off your weekend, and who knows, your kid might just reel in the biggest catch of the day!
Catch you at the derby!
