Franklin Falls Sno-Park Opening for Winter 2024/25!
The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, in partnership with Washington State Parks, is launching a new Sno-Park at the Franklin Falls trailhead this winter! This Sno-Park will offer parking for 100 vehicles, a restroom, a snow play area, and a marked snowshoe trail to Franklin Falls. The access road to the Sno-Park is just about a mile away from our cabin, making it a convenient spot for a winter adventure! Find more info at Washington State Parks.
Safety Reminder
The mountain environment along I-90 and beyond Franklin Falls is unpredictable and dangerous. The area has avalanche terrain, cliffs, and risky winter creek crossings. Avoid the Denny Creek Trail and Franklin Falls Basin due to significant avalanche risks.
Travel Tips
Before heading to Franklin Falls, always check road conditions at WSDOT. Chains are required on I-90 for winter access. Be ready for extreme weather.
If the Franklin Falls Sno-Park reaches capacity or conditions turn unsafe, it may be closed at the junction of NF 9034 and NF 58. Remember, no roadside or overnight parking is allowed, and a valid Sno-Park Pass is required.
Stay safe, and enjoy Franklin Falls responsibly!
